Danielle earned her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Capella University and went on to complete Applied Behavior Analysis courses to officially start her journey in the field of Behavior Analysis. Even before earning her Master’s degree, Danielle worked as a direct service provider and program manager for a large multi-service organization in Pennsylvania.
Danielle pursued her love for helping children with behavior concerns after working with the behavior de-escalation team in the children and adolescent units at a behavioral health facility in Pennsylvania.
Danielle highlights that “there is no such thing as ‘easy’ with behavior management; however, once you gain an understanding of the person and their behaviors, you’re able to work within and around the concerns.”
“Understanding the person is key in my perspective,” shares Danielle. “It takes a special level of compassion, patience, caring, and work ethic to truly reach the children with more maladaptive behaviors, which I pride myself on doing for each and every case I serve.”
Danielle explains that the most rewarding part of her job is “when clients, parents, professionals, and loved-ones are confident with managing behaviors or uncomfortable situations that once made them feel less confident and inadequate”.
She also finds it rewarding to “watch children that have been labeled as ‘limited’ due to their diagnoses blossom and become as independent and self-directed as they possibility can.”
We are excited to welcome Danielle to our team and to our new treatment center in Bala Cynwyd!
Fun fact! Danielle played basketball for Millersville University leading her team to a PSAC Championship in 2005. After her collegiate basketball career, she went on to play Overseas Professional Basketball in France for 4 years.
