Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept 15–Oct 15) honors the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities across the U.S.
At our Voorhees Diagnostic Center, our team gathered for lunch to recognize the Hispanic and Latino colleagues whose experiences and perspectives enrich our mission. Their voices help us connect more deeply with families and deliver care that reflects the diverse communities we serve.
Through moments like this, we live our values of Collaboration and Compassion—listening, learning, and celebrating one another.

🎙 Introducing Talking About — Our New Video Podcast
We’re introducing Talking About, a video podcast where clinicians from across NeurAbilities sit down to discuss real topics that impact the children, families, and communities we serve. Each episode brings forward different voices and disciplines, united by a common goal — making complex challenges easier to understand.
Episode 1: Empowering Children to Be Understood — From Behaviors to Communication
In this episode, Senior Clinical Director Adriana Neumann leads a conversation with Clinical Directors Erin O’Brien and Abby Dalton on how challenging behaviors are often a child’s attempt at communication. Together, they discuss the role of functional communication — identifying the purpose behind behaviors, teaching children clearer ways to express their needs, and guiding families to create everyday opportunities for those skills to take hold.
🎧 Watch Episode 1 and join us as we begin Talking About the topics that matter most to our families.

❤️ It’s Dyslexia Awareness Week!
The Go Red for Dyslexia campaign flips the meaning of red — once the color used to mark mistakes — into a symbol of strength, pride, and visibility for people with dyslexia.
It’s a global effort to replace stigma with understanding and celebrate the creativity and problem-solving that come with thinking differently.

😊 Today is World Smile Day — a tradition started by Harvey Ball, the artist who created the original smiley face. He believed that one day each year should be dedicated to simple acts of kindness, with the goal of bringing a smile to someone’s face. Celebrated on the first Friday in October, it’s a gentle reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be complicated to make a difference.
At NeurAbilities, the smiles we see from patients, families, and staff remind us daily to appreciate progress, celebrate connection, and carry kindness into each moment.
