Neuropsychology Training Programs

Our Programs

NeurAbilities offers training opportunities for neuropsychology students at three different levels including externship, internship, and post-doctoral fellowships. Neuropsychology is a highly valued specialty within NeurAbilities and students have the opportunity to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of experts comprised of neurologists, behavioral pediatricians, advanced nurse practitioners, neuropsychologists, and ABA therapists. Our clinical teams provide evaluation, diagnostic, and treatment services to individuals with neurological, psychological, developmental, and behavioral concerns.

Gain Experience

Students are able to engage with clients ranging in age from toddlerhood to early adulthood presenting with neurodevelopmental and neuromedical issues. Students are able to gain experience in working with a wide variety of populations, including children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, behavior problems, epilepsy, and neuropsychiatric conditions.

Expert Supervision

Supervision is provided on individual basis for each student and additional opportunities for group supervision are provided virtually to facilitate contact with students and supervisors across sites. In addition, students are able to participate in weekly neuropsychology specific didactics as well as interdepartmental neurology rounds.

Programs For Externs

Externs with prior assessment experience, particularly ADOS-2, are strongly encouraged to apply. However, extern level students with all levels of assessment experience will be considered. Opportunities for 12 month or 9 month commitments are available depending on student interest and program requirements. Externs are expected to be on site two days per week and are welcome to participate in additional training opportunities (e.g., didactics, case conference, etc.) in person or virtually. Externs of all levels will be considered and interested participants are encouraged to see our postings on the NYNJDOT and PENDELDOT websites. Externs who do not participate in the Match process are welcome to send any questions or application materials directly to Dr. Hilary Murphy at hmurphy@neurabilities.com

Programs For Internships

NeurAbilities is happy to welcome students to apply for internship opportunities in neuropsychology. Applicants must come from APA accredited programs in clinical or school psychology. Prior experience in neuropsychology is preferred and prospective applicants with ADOS-2 training are strongly encouraged to apply. Interns at NeurAbilities are prepared for proficiency in neuropsychological assessment, case conceptualization, and providing feedback to clients and their families. We are proud to offer a competitive compensation and benefit package. Interested applicants are encouraged to provide a cover letter, current CV, and deidentified writing sample via email to Dr. Hilary Murphy at hmurphy@neurabilities.com

Post-Doctoral Fellowships

NeurAbilities is happy to welcome students to apply for post-doctoral fellowship opportunities in neuropsychology. Applicants must come from APA accredited programs in clinical or school psychology. Fellowships are two year commitments and fellows are provided with opportunities to prepare for independent practice in neuropsychology. We are proud to offer a competitive compensation and benefit package. Interested applicants are encouraged to provide a cover letter, current CV, and deidentified writing sample via email to Dr. Hilary Murphy at hmurphy@neurabilities.com
