Kathryn McVicar, MD
Pediatric Neurologist
Dr. McVicar believes that life is a journey, and hers has been devoted to understanding brain functioning and sharing that knowledge with families to help guide them on their journeys. With many years of experience caring for children with neurological differences including epilepsy and autism, Dr. McVicar is a firm believer in collaboration and the importance of working as a team with families.
“I may be the person who has expertise about the brain, but the parents are the experts when it comes to their children. Together our team works for the outcomes that optimize the functions and abilities of our patients.”
Dr. McVicar’s former residencies and fellowships are impressive, with former affiliations including Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center’s, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and Montefiore Children’s Hospital. Dr. McVicar also actively seeks opportunities to share her knowledge, having served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology and Pediatrics for both the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital where she was a consultant for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. More recently she has been an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Neurology at Yale University’s Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
Dr. McVicar is proud to be a member of the NeurAbilities interdisciplinary team, where she values our collaborative approach and our commitment to excellence.
