Kaori Nepo, PhD, BCBA-D, Director of Behavior Services, provides two tips on how to help support your child throughout their behavioral development.
1. EXPLAIN to your child what is the DESIRED behavior in a given situation. For example, instead of “don’t yell”, say “use your inside voice”.
2. Catch your child in the act of doing something DESIRED and PRAISE them for it! For example, say “nice job cleaning up your dolls!”.
