Kaori Nepo, BCBA-D, is the Director of Behavior Services in Pennsylvania. Dr. Nepo manages all in-home, in-clinic, and community applied behavior analysis (ABA) diagnostic and treatment services in the state of Pennsylvania for NeurAbilities Healthcare. This includes the oversight, implementation and development of the new state-of-the-art autism treatment center in King of Prussia, PA (opening March 2020).
Dr. Nepo has worked in the field of behavior analysis for over 20 years as a therapist, consultant, researcher, and university faculty member. When asked why she pursued this field she says “I love the science of behavior and the impact I can make in the quality of lives of the individuals and families we support.”
As a behavior analyst who works directly with children and supervises a department of ABA therapists, Dr. Nepo finds enjoyment in finding solutions to any problem or barrier by using her creativity and working with a team to make improvements for patients and their families. Additionally, Dr. Nepo has done extensive research on the use of commonly available technology for behavior interventions. She has presented her research, publications, and clinical experience at local, national, and international conferences. “I find that different forms of technology can be reinforcing with both my patients, and my team members, and the data supports this finding.”
When asked what a common question she gets about her practice in behavior science, she responds: “Can you analyze my behavior?”
In addition to her role at NeurAbilities, Dr. Nepo holds leadership positions at the state and international levels in the field of behavior analysis and is actively collaborating on research projects with Temple University, Capella University, and University of Delaware. Dr. Nepo earned her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences, Master of Education and Doctorate in Education from Temple University.
