Azlen Theobald, Psy.D. is a Clinical Psychologist and licensed neuropsychologist at NeurAbilities Healthcare. Her areas of expertise and specialization include Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Tourette syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and dementia.
Dr. Theobald has worked with various populations across the lifespan, from toddlers to older adults. She is formally trained on the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and received specialized training in executive function skills for children and adolescents. She has presented research on the family impact of neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Tourette Syndrome. Dr. Theobald’s current research focuses on improving social outcomes for children with Tourette Syndrome.
Dr. Theobald completed her masters and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at La Salle University in Philadelphia with a concentration in child and family psychology. She completed an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship at Terry Children’s Psychiatric Center in New Castle, Delaware. She also completed clinical training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
As a mother of three, Dr. Theobald shares “parenting is one of the most difficult jobs that is full of rewards and challenges. I pursued the field of neuropsychology to help parents understand their child’s strengths and weaknesses so they can guide them in the most effective (and enjoyable) ways possible.”
When asked about a fun fact about herself to share, she adds “my first name is a mixture of my two grandmothers’ names.”
