  1. Avoids Eye Contact
    Child- refuses to look at face Adult- looks around face
  2. Odd Reactions to Emotion

    Child- upset/laughing when someone is sad Adult- dismisses intense emotions in others

  3. Communication Deficits
    Child- undeveloped speech, unrelated answers Adult- struggles in back-forth conversations
  4. Limited Social Skills
    Child- low interest in back-forth play Adult- socially isolates, misses social cues
  5. Wants to be Alone
    Child- sits in corner unresponsive Adult- engrossing in isolating activities
