About Dance and Movement Therapies
Dance and movement therapies can help to address the emotional, social, cognitive and physical needs of an individual. It may be effective for people of all ages and abilities.
Dance/movement therapies can help people in many settings including mental health, rehabilitation, nursing homes, day care centers, etc. to:
- Increase communication
- Increase development of interpersonal skills
- Promote self-esteem
- Reduce anxiety

Individual Session
A typical intake session is 45 minutes.
The session observations and treatment recommendations are discussed with the caretaker/individual following the evaluation or through a written report, if requested.
The number of sessions recommended is based on many factors, including age, diagnosis, other current treatments and preferences of the patients. Typically, individuals are encouraged to commit to at least 10 to 12 sessions to make progress toward treatment goals.

Group Sessions
Group sessions are scheduled in 10-session cycles throughout the year.
