Alexandra Back, MA, ATR-BC, LPC is a certified Art Psychotherapist who received her Master’s degree from Drexel University, joining the NeurAbilities team in September of 2013. She completed her undergraduate studies in psychology and art from the Pennsylvania State University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree. While studying at Drexel, she completed her internships with Brookfield Schools, Twin Oaks Community Services, and Ancora State Psychiatric Hospital. There she gained clinical experience working with a wide variety of individuals, including adults with severe, chronic mental illness, and both children and adults with trauma-related disorders, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other developmental delays. Ms. Back enjoys incorporating art making into the therapeutic process because of the ability of art to encourage reflection, self-awareness, and overall growth, among many other positive aspects.
