Takijah Heard, M.D. is a pediatric neurologist and epileptologist that attended Harvard for her residency, fellowship and classes towards her master’s degree in public health. Dr. Heard earned her medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Illinois Hope Children’s Pediatric Residency program. She went on to complete two additional residency programs at Harvard University in pediatric neurology and clinical neurophysiology. With a broad background of experience and education, Dr. Heard evaluates and treats patients with a variety of neurological and neurobehavioral concerns, including (but not limited to) autism, ADHD, Tourette Syndrome, neuropsychiatric disorders, and epilepsy, with a particular expertise and interest in epilepsy. She has contributed a wide variety of publications, posters, and presentations in the field of pediatric epilepsy and neurodevelopmental concerns and has years of experience conducting research trials in these areas. Dr. Heard is passionate supporting causes related to pediatric health, especially in underserved communities. She has travelled to Central America and Africa to complete medical missions in various underserved communities. Recently, Dr. Heard was awarded the Mentor Award from the I Am Abel Foundation for her leadership and dedication to pediatric healthcare.
