NeurAbilities

Alissa Conway, PhD, BCBA-D, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst providing ABA therapy and supervision at NeurAbilities in the King of Prussia, Pennsylvania clinic.

Alissa received her Doctor of Philosophy in Behavior Analysis and her Masters in Behavioral Analysis from Western Michigan University and received her Bachelors in Psychology from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

When asked why she chose to become a behavior analyst, Alissa shares, “I always knew I wanted to be in a helping profession. During my undergraduate psychology studies, I found an internship experience at an ABA clinic that not only helped children and young adults but did so in a systematic, evidence-based manner.  I was hooked right away on ABA!”

Since then, Alissa has contributed to numerous publications, presentations, and research studies surrounding the implementation of ABA therapy and other related information.

Prior to joining the NeurAbilities team, Alissa worked as a BCBA for several organizations including her last location where she acted as a team lead, providing therapist supervision for the implementation of the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) and discrete trial training as part of NIH R01 and R21 grants in clinic and home settings. Alissa specializes in providing ABA therapy to children 18 months to adolescence with a range of developmental and physical disabilities and severe challenging behaviors. In addition, she provides parent coaching to allow carry-over of strategies and techniques outside of face-to-face session time.

Alissa shares that the most commonly asked question she typically receives is “When will my child start talking?” She advises that the answer often depends on the situation. “I focus on the multiple modes of communication available, not just vocal communication, and stress the importance of consistency and practice.”  She works diligently with the child’s family and caregivers to assure that together they will find the best way for each child to successfully communicate their wants and needs.

Over the years, Alissa has also found time to travel to 5 out of the 7 continents!

We are excited to welcome Alissa to our ABA team!
